Created in 1762 by French neoclassical sculptor Nicolas-Sébastien Adam, this marble sculpture is now housed in the Louvre Museum. The sculpture portrays Prometheus Chained to the rocks of Mount Caucasus, with taut muscles and a slightly uplifted face. Its static form encapsulates the tragic moment of the "suffering Hero."
