Created in the 3rd century BCE during the Hellenistic period, the Terracotta Tragedy Mask is currently housed in the Agora Museum of Athens. The mask depicts a typical tragic expression, featuring high cheekbones, deep-set eye sockets, and tightly closed lips, giving it a solemn appearance. In ancient Greek Dionysian rituals and theatrical performances, the mask was a key medium for actors to 'transform' into gods or Heroes.
