Written by the ancient Greek poet Hesiod, its text dates back to the 8th century BC. As the earliest systematic text of the genealogies of gods in Greek Mythology, Theogony establishes the cosmic Divine Order from Chaos to the gods of Mount Olympus. The book is inscribed in uncial script using iron gall ink on processed parchment, with some of the surviving pages keeping traces of medieval Scholar annotations and corrections.
